This portrait series was inspired by a young woman I met while volunteering in Naro Moru, Kenya. She was walking along the dirt road and stopped to talk with me so she could practice her English. So bold! We had a wonderful, spontaneous conversation and she even asked to try on my 'American' sunglasses, to which I happily obliged!
I hand-painted this original portrait using charcoal/drawing/painting technology on my iPad. Once a portrait is completed, I make different versions and sell only one of each version.
Each available version printed on fine art paper is $75 and the total size is 12x12" including a 1" white border. If requested, I can add the title of the piece and my signature in pencil within the bottom white border. Shipping is extra and is typically about $20.
Custom versions (including mixed-media originals adding ink, paint, and collage to the design) may be possible. Applying an original design to a wood panel rather than paper is also possible. Contact me if interested.
