This portrait series was inspired by a young woman I met while volunteering in Naro Moru, Kenya. She was working alongside us and always stopped to talk with me so she could practice her English. We had wonderful, spontaneous conversations, she asked to try on my 'American' sunglasses, and we even had a shared birthday!
